Cheerio M&M Balls

Growing up, my mom made these little treats every Halloween and they were better than anything I could have found in my trick or treat bucket! She would wrap them all individually in wax paper and give them to my friends and cousins when they came by, but I secretly hoped that there wouldn't be a lot of visitors because that meant there would be more for me! They are incredibly easy to make and put together, and they are super addictive. You really can't go wrong with the crunchy, gooey goodness of these guys, and they are so much better than Rice Krispy Treats!

Servings: 2-3 dozen

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes after cooling

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/4 cup butter

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter

  • 1x 10oz package of mini marshmallows

  • 2/3 cup M&Ms

  • 6 cups Honey Nut Cheerios

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a large pot on the stove, melt butter over medium heat.

  2. Add peanut butter and marshmallows and stir continuously until melted and smooth.

  3. Remove from heat, and add Cheerios. Stir to coat.

  4. Add M&Ms, stir to incorporate.

  5. Form into balls or press into a greased 8x10 inch baking dish.

  6. Allow to cool and set for at least 20 minutes. Cut into squares if you used the baking dish. Store in a Ziploc bag or air-tight container!
