"Cynfully" Easy Dump Cake

If you are not a baker, but are tasked with creating a sweet treat for an upcoming function, this recipe is probably the EASIEST thing in the world to accomplish! Literally 4 ingredients, and no mixing required - yep, no mixing at all!

Cole's mom, Cynthia, graciously sent me this recipe, so I can't take any credit for this one, although I can take credit for eating a lot of it. Cole said he remembers eating mostly the cherry version of this, but any pie filling will work. I opted for peach because peach is my weakness. But please let me know if you discover any awesome combinations!

The recipe below is for a 9x9 inch baking dish. You can also make it in a 9x13 inch baking dish, but reduce its time in the oven to 30 minutes.

Servings: 9

Prep Time: 5 min

Total Time: 55 min

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 box white or yellow cake mix

  • 2 cans pie filling

  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), melted

  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Lightly grease a 9x9 baking dish and preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Dump contents of the cans of pie filling into the pan.

  3. Evenly spread the cake mix on top of the filling.

  4. Pour the melted butter over the top of the cake mix and top with the chopped walnuts.

  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes.
