Kitchen Sink Cookies

I created this recipe using a basic egg yolk cookie dough recipe. I had a bunch of pantry fixins that only had half a bag or less left and I wanted to throw as many fun suprises as I could in these cookies. You can totally mix up the morsels with what you have to make a cookie all your own. That's the beauty of these types of cookies - you can start with a base dough, and add whatever! All the best things in one bite. You can't beat that!

Servings: 2 dozen

Prep Time: 10 min

Total Time: 30 min

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

  • 1 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 3/4 cup white sugar

  • 4 egg yolks

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • 2 3/4 cups flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1 1/4 cup of any fixins you like - chocolate chips, M&Ms, pretzels, marshmallows, etc

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper or silicon baking mats.

  2. In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, cream butter and both sugars.

  3. Add vanilla and egg yolks, one at a time and mix thoroughly.

  4. With the mixer on medium speed, slowly add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until all combined.

  5. Fold in the fixins!

  6. **Optional, chill dough for at least one hour in the refrigerator. This will prevent the cookies from flatening too much.

  7. Scoop ping-pong sized balls of dough and place them 2 inches apart on the cookie sheets.

  8. Bake for 13-15 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a cooling rack.
